-New Board member:

Agenda
-Parent questions/ideas for school updates
Instagram account has been set up to exhibit student projects to engage students and families. In the future, a photography club or photography during X-Block for students to take photos to post on Instagram. Students’ faces would not be included.
-Fall HTM family event
Family movie night presenting Disney’s Coco
Thursday, October 28, 2021 | Mingle and movie starts at 6:30 pm
School would provide projector and audio system. Families bring their own chairs/blankets.
Other ideas for family events include game night.
- Parent education in films
The films address social media influence and mental health for example anxiety. The films could be viewed by students in advisory and by parents
-Fundraising campaign
Fundraising ideas include taco truck, chocolate & pan de muertos, Halloween bake sale during family movie event. Other fundraising options include AmazonSmile, Benefits app, Box Tops, and sponsors from local businesses. The holidays would be the best opportunity to promote the use of AmazonSmile and Benefits app.
-Fall “Project Give”
Project Give is to run for 5 to 6 weeks to raise $25,000 to support programs for students.
Future events for the spring include Fun Runs, social night/lock-ins, and other movie nights.
-Mutual aid
High Tech Point Loma schools working together to collect for food, clothing, and books drives.
-Exhibition Night
School is looking into different options for Exhibition night in December.
