S.T.E.A.M. Ahead!

Announcing S.T.E.A.M Ahead: The 1st Annual HTH Match Event supporting…
Science
Technology
Engineering
Arts
Math
I’m excited to share that a group of donors (HTH families, alumni & friends) have joined forces in hopes of motivating others to give generously through the First Annual HTH Match Event! What this means is that for every dollar donated to your school's Annual Campaign: Annual Appeal fund between Tuesday, December 11 - Friday, December 14  will be MATCHED by 50% (up to $50,000 in match funds!)!!
In '11, 321 current family and alumni donors gave $89K in support of HTH schools' Annual Campaign! Let’s break that milestone. The goal is to raise at least $349 per student this year, but EVERY gift of EVERY amount makes a difference.
  • Next week, make an impact and give to your school's Annual Appeal fund generously by clicking the “Donate Now” button:  www.hightechhigh.org/support
  • You may also mail your gift to: HTH Fdn 2861 Womble Road, San Diego, CA 92106 (Donation Form attached). Postmarks during event dates will be counted toward the match, even if received after the event ends.
Also, your gift IS eligible to be matched by your employer, if they have a matching gift program in place. Even greater impact!
Donate and watch your school tally rise semi-hourly by checking the embedded Twitter feed at HTH Foundation's website www.hightechhigh.org/support; by following us on Twitter (@hthfoundation); or liking the HTH Foundation page on Facebook (www.facebook.com/hightechhighfoundation). Share the excitement with grandparents, friends, and family!
These critical funds will directly support operations budgets at the school of your choice. The operations budget is the engine behind innovative science, technology, engineering, arts, and math projects; helps keep class sizes small and your school beautiful! Donations help close the funding gap between public school funding from the State and the actual cost of a year of the HTH brand of education.
Your gift is 100% tax-deductible, take advantage before the tax year ends December 31.
Remember, while it takes only a moment to make a gift, your generous spirit is felt all year!

Welcome Back!

Welcome to High Tech Middle School from the Parent Association (PA)!

On behalf of the HTM Parent Association board, I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to our new and returning families. We share your anticipation and excitement of a new school year and look forward to the inspired educational experiences awaiting our children.
Our mission is to support our school, staff and students by providing:
  •  Communications: A bi‐weekly email newsletter with “what’s new” at school, and calendar reminders.
  • Community Building: Hospitality and hosting support at school‐wide events like Back to School Night, Exhibition Night, and the Director’s monthly coffee meet‐up.
  •  Classroom Support: Team parents support the teachers directly and help with communication.
  • Fundraising: Our annual “Fund Run” jog‐a‐thon, Taco Sales, Logo Wear, eScrip and Gift Card fundraisers help the school and classroom budgets.

You are invited to our monthly PA meetings held at 8:40 a.m. the first Thursday of the month at HTM. Look for meeting location, agendas, and meeting notes posted on the PA website.

Our first big event of the year is Back to School Night on Thursday, September 13th, 6 to 7pm. This is a great opportunity to meet other families, HTM staff and students. Look for details on our Taco Stand dinner event that starts at 5:00. This is one of our most popular (and delicious) fundraisers!

There are many opportunities to help out at HTM. We welcome your support in any form, and for any amount of time. No donation of time or energy is too little or too big! Our teachers sincerely appreciate parent support, and the PA is glad to coordinate and assist our parent volunteers. If you want to find
out more about the PA, or if you can volunteer to help, please contact any of our board members.

The PA Board looks forward to meeting our many new families and seeing good friends in the coming months. I wish all of you an extraordinary new year!
With warm regards,
Lisa Ferguson
